The Latin America Regional Hub was established in 2021 in alliance with the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. The Latin America Hub exists to coordinate EGAP events in the region and expand EGAP’s capacity for global research exchange. In August 2021, the EGAP Latin America Regional Hub launched a RFP for small grants on the theme of displacement, migration, and integration.
EGAP awarded 6 grants of up to $15,000 to teams led by principal investigators based in/from Latin America that will conduct research in a Latin American country. A critical feature of the grant was that it sought to fund quantitative research (e.g., surveys, field experiments, or large-N analysis of administrative data) in Latin America that could lead to an accumulated understanding of promising governance or civil society-led innovations in this area of study.
