Formalization, Taxation, and Public Services: Lessons from Metaketa II
On October 22, EGAP individual researcher and Metaketa II committee chair Ana De La O shared the results from studies in six countries that explore if demand-side behavioral interventions — which reduced upfront transaction costs that prevent people interested in entering into a fiscal contract with government from doing so — increase formalization, access to public goods, and tax payments. The event also highlighted the research design of and the integrated results from the six studies.
The research presented is part of EGAP’s Metaketa Initiative, a coordinated research model designed to foster innovation and cumulative learning through simultaneous replication of research across multiple contexts.
