The Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) network, along with the Working Group in African Political Economy (WGAPE), is planning an EGAP Learning Days workshop in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This meeting aims to support PIs in developing experimental research designs. It consists of workshops focused on critical aspects of impact evaluation designs or experimental interventions and workshops to assist participants with their own research designs. It will take place at New York University, Abu Dhabi from January 3-5, 2017 and the full agenda will be posted soon.
We invite young professors, post-doctoral fellows, PhD candidates, or policymakers (in charge of the design and/or impact evaluations of public policies) from Africa that use or seek to use experimental methods in their research to apply. Applicants must have a background in social sciences as well as basic knowledge of statistics and/or econometrics. Finally, please note that the workshop´s language is English; applicants should feel comfortable reading and exchanging ideas in English. To ensure a fruitful exchange, 10 applicants will be accepted.
