The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is an independent, non-partisan Pan-African not-for-profit organization established in 2011 and located in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently engaged in more than 26 African countries, PASGR works to enhance research excellence in governance and public policy that contributes to the overall wellbeing of women and men in Africa. In partnership with individual academics and researchers, higher education institutions, research think tanks, civil society organizations, business and policy communities both in the region and internationally, PASGR supports the production and dissemination of policy relevant research; designs and delivers suites of short professional development courses for researchers and policy actors; and facilitates the development of collaborative higher education programmes.
PASGR’s vision is “a vibrant African social science community addressing the continent’s public policy issues” with a mission of advancing research excellence for governance and public policy in Africa is delivered through three core programmes: Higher Education, Research & Policy, and Professional Development and Training.
Institutional Representative: Pauline Ngimwa, Programme Manager, Professional Development & Training
Pauline Ngimwa is a Kenyan national with extensive work experience in the African Higher Education sector. An experienced practitioner and scholar in higher education and educational technology, she has led multi-national education and capacity strengthening projects in African Higher Education sector. Currently, she is the Programme Manager for the Professional Development and Training Programme at the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), responsible for conceptualizing and guiding the development and delivery of experiential professional training programmes to early and mid-career researchers, academics and policy actors in Africa. Before joining PASGR, she led the implementation of the digital library and Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) programmes at the African Virtual University. Her research interests include design and use of digital educational resources including Open Educational Resources (OERs) in African Higher Education. She has published in this area and peered reviewed for international journals. She is also a member of the Network of OERs and Multimodal Self-Directed Learning in Southern Africa (NOMSA) advisory board. She holds a PhD and Masters of Research in Educational Technology from the Open University of UK; and a BSc. and a Masters in Information Science from Moi University, Kenya, and is a fellow with the African Science Leadership Program.
