Miriam Golden

Miriam Golden is Professor of Political Science at the University of California at Los Angeles and, as of September 2019, Peter Mair Chair in Comparative Politics at the European University Institute. She is also an Associate Member of Nuffield College, Oxford University. Miriam studies politicians, corruption, and governance, and has conducted field research in Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America. Her research is problem-oriented. She was part of a team that studied spillovers in election fraud in Ghana, and currently she is involved in field experiments that partner with politicians in Pakistan. There, she is a Research Fellow in Political Economy at the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP). Her most recent book is Corruption: What Everyone Needs to Know (OUP 2017), co-authored with economist Ray Fisman, and her articles have been published in journals that include the American Political Science Review, British Journal of Political Science, American Journal of Political Science, Annual Review of Political Science, and Energy Policy.
