Michael Findley is Associate Professor in the Department of Government at the University of Texas at Austin. His work appears in International Organization, American Journal of Political Science, and Journal of Politics, among others. Michael’s research addresses civil wars, terrorism, and development; methods include field experiments, statistical and computational models, and some interviews; fieldwork occurs in Uganda, South Africa, Sudan, DRC, Nepal, and Malawi. His policy work includes collaborations with World Bank, USAID, African Development Bank, UNICEF, UN-PBF, UNDP, International Aid Transparency Initiative, and many aid-recipient countries. Michael received his PhD in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2007.
