Max Méndez-Beck is the Research and Policy Manager for EGAP, where he helps organize yearly conferences that bring together EGAP members and policymakers. In the past he has worked for J-PAL at their regional offices in Latin America, leading efforts to identify and build strategic partnerships with governments, NGOs, foundations, and international organizations in order to promote the scale-up and replication of effective social programs. Most recently, he oversaw a scoping project in Central America to assess the viability of introducing a new teaching methodology to the public school system. Max holds a Research Master’s degree in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a B.A. in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College.
