Mathilde Emeriau uses quantitative methods to study when and how immigrants integrate into their host communities, particularly the effect of integration policies, legal status, naturalization, and natives’ hostility. She also studies the determinants of discrimination. Her current research investigates the determinants of public school avoidance in France and tests whether coordination can be effective in reducing social avoidance.
