Loreto Cox is an assistant professor at the School of Government at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). She obtained her Ph.D. in political science at MIT. Previously, she graduated as a commercial engineer majoring in economics and a sociologist at UC. Her main research interests focus on political behavior, with a special interest in public opinion and the functioning of political institutions in Latin America. She is also interested in public policy, especially in higher education. Her work uses various empirical methods, including surveys and experiments. Her work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Development Economics, and Political Behavior, among others.
