Fernando Martel García is an independent consultant specializing in causal inference for field experiments and observational studies. His work centers on attrition diagnostics, external validity and generalization, and research practice, including replication, preregistration, and transparent reporting.

He advises governments, NGOs, and companies on RCT design, measurement, and impact evaluation, drawing on experience as a Fortune 500 data science leader and founder of a B2B SaaS platform for offline A/B tests. Current interests include AI-assisted evidence synthesis and tools for reproducible causal analyses.

Previously a Research Fellow at Harvard and Principal Data & Applied Science Manager at Microsoft, his work has appeared in the Journal of Development Economics, International Studies Perspectives, and BMC Public Health. He holds a PhD in Political Science from NYU.
