Equilibrium Centro para el Desarrollo Económico (Equilibrium CenDE) is a think tank that focuses precisely on the generation of debate and promotion of actions, policies and projects that encourage the socioeconomic development of Latin America and the Caribbean. It was born out in 2020 of the need to better understand both the Venezuelan displacement phenomenon and the challenge it presents for the region. Equilibrium CenDE sees research as a tool to generate change and drive the debate and the creation of innovative solutions to face them. Another main goal is to be innovative in the way research is used and transmitted to have a greater reach and add more people to the exchange of ideas. To achieve this we create spaces for debate and exchange of ideas, inform and educate the population, specially the youth, on issues relevant to development through various media and spaces and construct inclusive and sustainable public policies at all levels. We are active members of the Working Group for Refugees and Migrants (GTRM) co-led by UNHCR and IOM and the Intersectoral Work Group for Migration Management of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Equilibrium CenDE also received a special recognition by PODER Think Tank of the Year Awards, an effort to celebrate the good work of think tanks and policy research institutes in Peru.
