Daniel Butler is a professor of political science at Washington University in St. Louis. His research uses experiments to study the relationship between voters and elected officials. Daniel works in the United States and Europe. Currently, he is collaborating with public officials to study the effects of politicians’ communications on constituents’ political attitudes and behaviors. Daniel has also collaborated with local officials in the United States to study effective ways of increasing the number of volunteers for local town boards and committees. Finally, he has several ongoing projects focused on primary elections in the United States. Daniel’s research has appeared in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Journal of Experimental Political Science, and other journals.
