CMI’s vision is research for a just and equal world providing knowledge that inspires and shapes policy and practice. CMI conducts high-quality research in partnership with policymakers in the countries in which they work, primarily in Africa and Asia. CMI considers these long-term partnerships as pivotal for achieving their objectives. Together with partners, CMI strives for equal knowledge production in the development of research projects, publications, and policy recommendations. This is important both as a goal and as a foundation for doing high-quality and relevant research. CMI’s competencies range from global health and migration to poverty, anti-corruption, democracy, and governance. CMI researchers use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods including participatory, observational, experimental, and quasi-experimental approaches.
