The Busara Center for Behavioral Economics is a research and advisory firm based in Nairobi that is dedicated to advancing and applying behavioral science in the Global South. The Busara Center helps clients to understand human behaviors and design solutions to scale products, programs, and policies. By utilizing a behavioral approach to design these solutions, they can better understand and predict barriers to best achieve desired outcomes and enhance user welfare.

The work at the Busara Center starts with removing assumptions and preconceived notions about culture and context to look at the world through a fresh perspective. They spend time listening, learning, designing and discarding potential solutions before finding the ones that may work. Then they test, scale, break, and iterate, again and again until they have it right.
