Alberto is Professor and Chair at the Department of Political Science at ITAM. He teaches courses on causal inference, comparative political economy, and comparative political behavior. His current research focuses on political intolerance, democracy, social norms, accountability, governance and corruption, and the political economy of climate change. His work has appeared in journals in political science and economics including American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Journal of Public Economics, and Journal of the European Economic Association, as well as in general science journals including Nature Human Behavior. He has published two books with Cambridge University Press. Alberto graduated from Harvard College with a B.Sc. in environmental engineering sciences and holds a PhD in Political Science and an MA in Economics from Stanford University.
