Aina Gallego is an Associate Professor at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies. She specializes in inequalities in political representation. Her current research projects study the effect of technological change on political behavior and the experiences of women and citizens with low socio-economic status in political office, using survey experiments, machine learning, and causal inference methods. She has also investigated political reactions to corruption and inequalities in political participation. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University and the Spanish Council for Scientific Research.
