Rosario Aguilar is Associate Professor of Political Science at Newcastle University. Her research interests are in political psychology and behavior. She has done research in new and established democracies focusing on citizens’ behavior looking at the role of emotions, prejudice, and reasoning. She is also interested in understanding how people assimilate new information and, potentially, correct faulty beliefs, as well as finding mechanisms to decrease intergroup conflict. Her research has appeared in Comparative Political Studies, Electoral Studies, Latin American Research Review, Political Behavior, Swiss Political Science Review, among others. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Michigan. She has been associate editor for Research and Politics and the Journal of Experimental Political Science. She has held leadership positions in EGAP, the International Society of Political Science (ISPP), and the World Association of Public Opinion Research (WAPOR). She has also taught in the EGAP Latin American Learning Days.
