Irfan Nooruddin is the Hamid bin Khalifa Al Thani Professor of Indian Politics at Georgetown University. He has been a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He studies the political economy of democratic politics in the developing world, with particular emphasis on economic development and institution building in post-conflict situations, and the politics of public good provision under globalization. He has published three books: The Everyday Crusade: Christian Nationalism in American Politics (2022; with E.L. McDaniel and A.F. Shortle), Elections in Hard Times: Building Stronger Democracies in the 21st Century (2016; with T.E. FLores) and Coalition Politics and Economic Development: Credibility and the Strength of Weak Governments (2011), all with Cambridge University Press.
