Ben Morse

Ben Morse is a Senior Training Manager at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT. He also conducts original research on the political economy of development, with a regional focus on West Africa. Ben received his PhD from the Department of Political Science at MIT in 2019. His research focuses on strategies to improve citizen trust and cooperation with the police in countries with weak rule of law. He is also active in research to inform humanitarian policy and response. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the International Growth Centre, and the Folke Bernadotte Academy.

Prior to his work at J-PAL and MIT, he worked for Innovations for Poverty Action in New York, Mexico, and Liberia, and as consultant for the Norwegian Refugee Council in Liberia. Ben holds a B.A. in Government from Colby College, and is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
