Contact View Website

Marcus Holmlund is an Economist with Development Impact Evaluation (DIME) at the World Bank. He specializes in impact evaluation, policy design, and experimentation and works in several areas including crime and violence prevention, urban and social development, local governance and service delivery, and health systems strengthening. Marcus recently led a program focused on understanding how to improve maternal and child health in Nigeria, and is currently co-leading DIME’s work in Fragility, Conflict, and Violence. Much of his current work centers around facilitating access by excluded or marginal populations to skills, jobs, and political processes, and on related improvements in economic, social, physical, and mental well-being. Prior to joining the World Bank, Marcus worked with the Colombian Red Cross and, briefly, with the Integrated Childhood and Adolescence Center in Ecuador and with Fundacion Paraguaya. He holds an MA in International Economics and Development from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University, and is a (formerly) certified snowboard instructor.
