He is also a part-time professor at the Department of Economics of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.econ.puc-rio.br%2F&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNGT3OnQ3PYN63aUhfoTPRfurqjnfg\" target=\"_blank\">Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio)<\/a>. He currently serves as Scientific Director of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.povertyactionlab.org%2Flatin-america-caribbean&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNGgv4AizhRvT6AM42mQEWb8WjSL5A\" target=\"_blank\">J-PAL Latin America &amp; Caribbean<\/a> and as co-director of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lacea.org%2Fportal%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26view%3Darticle%26id%3D14%26Itemid%3D15%26phpMyAdmin%3Df18f79e76e8f09c4b5c658d1db20ad3f&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNGdPxR-t4cViZcHJgVLMEMpFfzZtA\" target=\"_blank\">Political Economy Network of LACEA<\/a>. He is an honorary member of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lacea.org%2Fportal%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26view%3Darticle%26id%3D24%26phpMyAdmin%3Df18f79e76e8f09c4b5c658d1db20ad3f%26Itemid%3D101&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNFWL-J0Jcu-103s3LjgBoYgd8w-xg\" target=\"_blank\">LACEA<\/a>, fellow of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.econometricsociety.org%2F&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNHwOLKz5aSzlUZ00iEX_0ySyoWw6g\" target=\"_blank\">Econometric Society<\/a> and currently an Associate Editor of <em>Econometrica<\/em>, <em>Journal of Political Economy<\/em>, and <em>Journal of Development Economics<\/em>. His academic research focuses on economic development, political economy, and public economics.
