Before joining Universidad EAFIT, Santiago was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago Pearson Institute &amp; Innovations for Poverty Action Peace and Recovery Program.&nbsp;He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in 2018, an his M.A. in Economics from Universit\u00e9 catholique de Louvain.&nbsp;Santiago&#8217;s research interests lie in the fields of development economics and political economy.
