{"id":871,"date":"2020-05-14T18:08:42","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T18:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egap.org\/?post_type=member&#038;p=871"},"modified":"2020-05-19T20:09:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T20:09:00","slug":"leonard-wantchekon","status":"publish","type":"member","link":"https:\/\/egap.org\/es\/member\/leonard-wantchekon\/","title":{"rendered":"Leonard Wantchekon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"o-generic-links\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.princeton.edu\/lwantche\"><br>Leonard Wantchekon<\/a>&nbsp;is Professor in the Politics department at Princeton University and associated faculty in the Economics department.&nbsp; His research is broadly focused on Political and Economic development, particularly in Africa and his interests include democratization, clientelism and redistributive politics, resource curse, and long-term social impact of historical events.&nbsp; He has authored numerous publications in leading academic journals, including \u201cThe Slave Trade and the Origins of Mistrust in Africa\u201d (with Nathan Nunn), in the American Economic Review; \u201cThe Paradox of \u201cWarlord\u201d Democracy: A Theoretical Investigation,\u201d in the American Political Science Review (2004); Clientelism and Voting Behavior: A Field Experiment in Benin, World Politics\u201d, among others. Professor Wantchekon is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the Executive Committee of the Council for International Teaching and Research at Princeton.
