Jessica Preece is an assistant professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University and the co-director of the Gender and Civic Engagement Lab. Her research uses experiments (especially field experiments) to study women's representation, political ambition, and political party recruitment. Several of her projects have focused on women's underrepresentation in the Republican Party. Her work has been featured or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Political Science, the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, Political Behavior, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Politics & Gender, the Journal of Experimental Political Science, and others. She completed her PhD at UCLA (2010).
