Florian G. Kern
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Government and the Michael Nicholson Centre for Conflict and Cooperation, University of Essex. I received my PhD from the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz. In Konstanz, I was a Junior Research Fellow at the Chair of International Relations and Conflict Management until September 2015. My main research interest is in the comparative micro-politics and the political economy of local governance and development. I employ a variety of methods, combining applied experimental and qualitative approaches, case studies, fieldwork, as well as formal theory.
