Markus Taussig is an associate professor of management and global business at Rutgers Business School. He lived in Southeast Asia for nearly two decades, including 11 years in Vietnam designing and carrying out firm surveys and doing operational audits and business planning for the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, and many bilateral development organizations. Markus’ research continues to involve significant engagement with organizations based in Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam and Myanmar. His research on engagement between businesses, government, and other societal stakeholders has been published in leading management, political science, and economics journals and won best paper awards from the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Community for Responsible Research for Business and Management. He also received the AOM International Management Division’s best dissertation award and numerous fellowships for international research, including the Fulbright. In 2019, he served on an expert panel for The Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to produce a report on “Stronger Food and Drug Regulatory Systems Abroad” on behalf of the US Food and Drug Administration.
