Bilal M. Siddiqi is an Economist in the Development Impact Evaluation (DIME) team of the World Bank’s Development Research Group. His research interests lie in law and economics, political economy, and applied microeconomics, focusing specifically on the relationship between law, institutions, conflict, and development. Bilal leads the Data and Evidence for Justice Reform (DE JURE) global research program, which partners with judiciaries around the world to expand the evidence base on the economics of justice reform. Bilal received his Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Prior to joining the World Bank, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford University and an AMID Scholar at the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University.
