Juan is a Professor of Economics at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of London in 2007. His work centers on the political development of Latin America. Recent publications include a study of civil conflict in Colombia and its effects on commodity prices, and research on combatant training. Juan serves as associate editor for Peace Economics, Peace Science, and Public Policy and The Economics of Peace and Security Journal.
