James is a Research Director for Invest in Knowledge (IKI) a non-profit organization based in Zomba Malawi. The main aim of the organization is to identify and groom young people to become independent researchers. He has over 14 years of hands on research experience, managing data collection and coordinating teams on these projects. . His research experience has mainly been on HIV and AIDS but also has an interest on how election times affect delivery of public health services in low-income countries. He has worked with Invest in Knowledge for over 14 years rising from an enumerator, field supervisor, research manager and finally to the research director and as head of the institution. Looking at the nature of the work IKI does, he has worked with different political scientists as well which helped him to start looking at public health from a political angle. He is a holder of a masters degree in public health from the University of Malawi.
