Ali is a 2014-2016 Oxford-Princeton Global Leaders Fellow, and an Assistant Professor of Economics (on leave) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. His research explores Political Economy and Development Economics issues, principally using experimental methods. He is interested in investigating how Information Communications Technology (ICT) impacts political, economic, and social equilibria. He is also interested in studying how personalities and differences in beliefs impact development interventions. Ali has done extensive field work in Pakistan, and provided policy advice to the Government of Punjab on service delivery and governance.
